Hybrid Meets All-Wheel Drive on New Tech-Packed 2025 Ford Maverick

When the Ford Maverick debuted in 2021, it quickly became the truck Americans never knew they needed. Building on its success, Ford is now making its smallest truck even smarter to match the capability, spaciousness, and versatility that made it a surprise hit. Notably, the Maverick still holds the title of the lowest starting price of any pickup in America.

The 2025 Ford Maverick introduces several significant upgrades. One of the most anticipated is the all-wheel drive option for the hybrid model, making it easier to handle challenging terrain and inclement weather. This new feature is available on the XL, XLT, and Lariat trims. Additionally, Maverick customers can now double their towing capacity with an optional package.

Enhanced Technology and Connectivity

The 2025 Maverick features new wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ on a larger 13.2-inch touchscreen. This upgrade allows customers to leave their smartphone cords at home. For towing, the Maverick includes new technologies that will be available in early 2025, ensuring even novice drivers can tow like a pro.

These enhancements were driven by customer feedback, with Maverick owners being the most loyal in the midsize truck segment. The Maverick continues to attract customers from other truck brands and vehicle segments, such as small cars and SUVs, with 60 percent of Maverick customers trading in vehicles from other brands.

Trim Levels

The 2025 Ford Maverick is available in four trims:

  1. XL: The most affordable Maverick, offering standard hybrid front-wheel drive and steelies.
  2. XLT: The most popular trim, with additional convenient and purposeful features.
  3. Lariat: Focused on ultimate comfort and convenience.
  4. Tremor: Now its own trim series, offering enhanced off-road capability, a 360-degree camera, and new One-Pedal drive.

Efficiency and Capability

The front-wheel-drive Maverick Hybrid is targeting an EPA-estimated rating of 42 miles per gallon in the city, while the hybrid all-wheel-drive version is aiming for 40 miles per gallon. The new hybrid all-wheel-drive model caters to customers who need traction over various road and trail conditions and in all types of weather. It also supports towing small campers, personal watercraft, and utility trailers, thanks to the available 4K Tow Package.

The Maverick FLEXBED enhances cargo organization with features like pockets molded into the sidewalls for 2x4s, dividers for two-tier loading, and a multi-position tailgate that accommodates up to 18 full sheets of half-inch plywood. The bed also includes a 110V/400W outlet for powering gear, and pre-wired 12V connections for additional DIY features like lighting.

Advanced Safety and Driver Assistance

New for 2025, the Maverick includes SYNC 4 on the largest standard touchscreen in its class, paired with an 8-inch digital instrument cluster. Wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ are now standard, and the built-in 5G modem ensures the latest wireless tech and software updates.

For maneuvering in tight urban environments, the 360-Degree Camera offers a split-view display of what’s in front of or behind the vehicle, along with cross-traffic views. Pro Trailer Hitch Assist and Pro Trailer Backup Assist are standard on the Lariat and Tremor trims, making hitching and backing up trailers straightforward and stress-free.

The 2025 Maverick comes standard with Ford Co-Pilot360 technology, including Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane-Keeping Aid, a Rear View Camera, and Auto LED High-Beam Headlamps. The Lariat and Tremor trims also feature Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go, Lane Centering, and Speed Sign Recognition.

Freshened Appearance

The 2025 Maverick sports a refreshed exterior with redesigned LED headlamps, a new front bumper, and grille variations across trims. The Lariat trim features new 19-inch wheels for added sophistication. Interior updates include new trim colors and materials, with the XLT offering Grabber Blue accents and the Lariat featuring a Smoke Truffle theme with bronze accents.

A new Black Package includes a unique grille, black roof, black Ford badges, and 19-inch gloss black wheels.

Starting at $26,295 plus $1,595 for destination and delivery, the new Maverick and Maverick Hybrid are available to order starting August 1, with deliveries expected to begin in late 2024.
