Video: Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing Restomodded with Tesla Power

The Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing, a two-seat coupe from the mid-1950s, was a groundbreaking vehicle in the car industry. It was powered by a 3.0-liter M198 straight-six engine and weighed only 3,300 pounds. However, the 3.0-liter straight-six engine has been replaced by an electric motor, making the Mercedes-Benz Gullwing a true sports car. To transform the iconic car into a restomodded EV, the S-Klub team purchased a functional Tesla Model 3 and reassembled the Mercedes body on top.

The resulting Benz is almost a Tesla in disguise, with the camera and sensors functioning on the newly built body. The slim steering wheel and refined dashboard have been replaced by the no-button, no-switch, no-nothing of the Model 3. All functions are controlled via a massive 15-inch touchscreen.

The project took approximately two months, with working hours lasting up to midnight. The S-Klub team chose a pearl white paint shade from the Model 3, then wrapped the seat, dashboard, and interior in Tiffany Blue, contrasting with the Pearl White. The turquoise inside matches the strip along the hood, roof, trunk lid, and brake calipers. The model rides on white 18-inch wheels with Toyo tires.

The Tiffany 300 SL, supervised by John Sarkisyan, CEO of S-Klub, was on display at SEMA 2023 in Las Vegas.
