Volkswagen Launches Affordable Polo Robust Aimed at Brazilian Farmers

São Paulo, Brazil - Volkswagen has unveiled the Polo Robust, a new variant of its popular Polo Track hatchback specifically designed for the agricultural sector in Brazil.

The Polo Robust offers a smaller and more affordable option compared to traditional pickup trucks like the Saveiro or Amarok, while still catering to the needs of farmers.

Enhanced for Rough Terrain:

The key feature of the Polo Robust is its increased ground clearance, achieved through raised front and rear suspension. This modification allows the car to navigate challenging terrains often encountered in rural areas, such as gravel roads. Standard features include 15-inch steel wheels with black hubcaps, tinted taillights, and rugged bumpers, further emphasizing its durability.

Optional Packages for Added Functionality:

Volkswagen offers two optional accessory packages for the Polo Robust, enhancing its practicality and resilience for farm use. The first package includes vinyl seat covers, rubber floor mats, and a grille protector, ideal for protecting the interior from wear and tear. The second package builds upon the first by adding a rubber boot cover and a trailer hitch, enabling the car to tow small trailers or equipment.

Engineered for Efficiency:

Under the hood, the Polo Robust features a fuel-efficient 1.0-liter naturally aspirated engine, available in both gasoline and flex-fuel options. The gasoline engine delivers 84 horsepower and 75 lb-ft of torque, while the flex-fuel option offers slightly more power at 83 horsepower and 101 Nm of torque. Both engines are paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.

A Viable Alternative:

The Volkswagen Polo Robust presents a compelling alternative to traditional pickup trucks for farmers in Brazil. Its smaller size and lower price point make it a more accessible option, while the increased ground clearance and optional features ensure it can handle the demands of farm work.
