Nissan Juke Refresh: Yellow Returns, Interior Elevates, N-Sport Trim Debuts [W/Gallery+Video]

Nissan is reintroducing a yellow exterior paint option for its Juke urban crossover in response to customer demand, following its popularity on the first generation Juke. The mid-lifecycle refresh includes a redesigned centre console and instrument panel, new materials, trim, and upgraded fit and finish. The car's connectivity has been updated with a larger touchscreen and additional features. Additionally, an additional grade called N-Sport is introduced, emphasizing the Juke's dynamic qualities on both exterior and interior details.

The new yellow exterior paint option is a direct consequence of customers who loved the yellow when it was introduced on the first generation Juke. The new yellow is slightly paler, giving a more modern and impactful look. When specified in the new N-Sport trim, the yellow's impact is heightened by the contrast with the black roof, wheels door mirrors, wheel arch inserts, grille, and A- and B-pillars.

Nissan AMIEO region Vice President Arnaud Charpentier said that the yellow option was a response to customer demand for a more comfortable, convenient, and overall life-on-board ambience for drivers and passengers.

Nissan has updated the Juke's interior with a new, 12.3 inch central infotainment screen, enhancing the cockpit-feeling and providing a smoother leather-like material for a cleaner and more satisfying touch. The combimeter, which houses the Juke's speed and key information, is now a 12.3 inch digital TFT screen with a hi-resolution resolution of 1920 x 720 pixels. The combimeter can be configured to display navigation directions, fuel economy, audio information, eco-drive performance, tyre pressures, and other key information.

The upgraded infotainment system offers a more intuitive home screen, allowing users to customize the screen to include "widgets" for frequently used functions. The infotainment also features improved voice recognition and "natural language understanding" capability, allowing the system to understand a wider range of phrases and expressions as commands. Wireless Android Auto is now available alongside existing wireless Apple CarPlay connectivity. Other new features include speed camera information and fuel price information displayed in the navigation map, and the infotainment system can now play video content from USB connected devices when the car is stationary.

In summary, Nissan's interior updates have enhanced the Juke's quality and connectivity, with the addition of a new, 12.3 inch central infotainment screen, improved voice recognition, and enhanced navigation features.

Nissan has introduced a new yellow interior trim for the Juke, reflecting the addition of the eye-catching exterior yellow. The N-Sport interior features a boomerang-shaped yellow highlight across the top of the instrument panel, framing the base of the new central infotainment screen and finishing at the air-vents. The N-Sport seat continues the eye-catching theme with yellow recycled Alcantara® inserts matching the new exterior paint. The base and seat upright are quilted in a distinctive pattern, while "Juke" is embossed at shoulder-height on the seat-upright. Yellow stitching completes the bold effect.

The N-Connecta, N-Design, and Tekna grades also have new seats with improved comfort. The N-Connecta seats feature Kira Melange fabric, a PVC with fabric accents, while the Tekna models use black PVC with PVC accents and quilted effect inserts. The seat aperture, giving the interior a sporty feel, is lined in a piano black finisher.

Nissan Technical Centre Europe and the Sunderland factory have collaborated to develop a new yellow for the Juke, which will make an even bolder statement. The Juke in N-Design trim, with black roof, door mirrors, wheels, and a more driver-focused interior packed with technology, brings a fresh flavor to the line-up.

The Juke has undergone several updates to its interior, including an enlarged glovebox and a redesigned armrest. The glovebox now holds 7.8 litres, while the armrest is now more supportive with an asymmetric design. The armrest lifts to access a center storage cubby, with a clip that can hold three credit cards. All Juke grades now have an electric handbrake for maximum space and convenience. The e-Pedal and EV Mode buttons have been relocated on the Hybrid version. Starting from N-Connecta grade, all versions have a wireless charging pad, USB-A and-C sockets for front occupants, and USB-A and USB-C charging points for rear occupants. These updates aim to provide more space and convenience for passengers.

Juke has introduced new exterior colour options, including a new pearl white shade and metallic black formula. The pearl white has a purer look and more metallic flakes, while the metallic black is richer and darker, achieved by using more carbon black pigment and replacing the metallic flake with a glass flake. New wheel trim options are available across the top three grades, with each grade having a standard wheel trim and an optional alternative. The standard wheels on N-Connecta and N-Design have unique five-spoke designs, while the optional 19" wheel trim for N-Connecta, N-Design, N-Sport & Tekna offers optimized aerodynamic properties. A new low-resistance rolling tyre option is also available for the 17" wheel option on the Hybrid version at Acenta and N-Connecta grades.

The Juke has been updated with Lane Departure Warning and Emergency Lane Keep, which monitor the car's position in the lane on a highway. If the car moves too close to the lane limit, it triggers a vibration in the steering wheel to alert the driver. The car then corrects the direction to maintain the lane's trajectory. The rear-view camera's resolution has been increased from 0.3 to 1.3 megapixels, providing more confidence in reversing manoeuvres, especially in low-light situations. The rear-view camera is now standard on all Juke grades, and the Around-View Monitor, which combines the view from four cameras, is available from the N-Connecta grade up. Additionally, the brake lights will flash when hard braking due to an unexpected sudden stop from the car in front.

The Nissan Juke offers two powertrain options: Juke Hybrid, which uses a Nissan internal combustion engine for hybrid applications, and Juke, an electric motor with a 15kW high voltage starter/generator. The electric engine provides 25% more power than the current petrol engine option, reducing fuel consumption by up to 40% in urban cycles and 20% over the combined cycle. The non-electrified engine option for JUKE is an efficient 1.0-liter three-cylinder DIG-T turbocharged petrol engine, producing 117PS and 180Nm of torque. The Juke is available with a 6-speed manual or sporty 7-speed dual-clutch paddle-shift transmission and a driving mode selector (Eco, Standard, Sport). The updated Nissan Juke builds on its strengths, with a stunning design, enhanced connectivity, comfort, and convenience, making it a stronger pioneer in the city crossover segment. The return of the yellow paint option further strengthens the Juke's position as a pioneer in the crossover segment.
