FIAT Soars in 2023: Global Sales Rise 12%, Top Spot for Stellantis


 In 2023, FIAT has increased its global sales volume by 12%, registering a total of 1.35 million sold units worldwide. This growth is highlighted by the brand's significant results in Europe, South America, Middle East, and Africa. The brand is leading in its four "domestic markets" with a share of 21.8% in Brazil, 12.8% in Italy, 15.7% in Turkey, and 78.6% in Algeria. FIAT CEO and Global CMO Olivier Francois stated that the company has grown globally, consolidating its position as a global player and for the third year in a row, proving to be the number one Stellantis Brand in volume.


In Europe, FIAT launched two new important products: the new Fiat 600 and the new Topolino, which will make even more robust their leadership in the offer for urban sustainable mobility. In South America, FIAT confirmed its leadership with 14.5% market share, together with its leadership in Brazil. In Middle East and Africa, FIAT also confirmed its key role in Turkey and, thanks to the new Plant in Algeria, entered a new important market, taking its leadership.

In Europe, FIAT's 500e was Europe's number one in the A+B BEV segment with a market share of 14.7%, up 0.3 pt. compared to 2022. In the city-car market, FIAT registered more than 230,000 Fiat 500 (excluding its BEV version) and Panda, achieved a share of 44.4%, confirming FIAT's European supremacy. Among the Commercial Vehicles, FIAT Professional Ducato was number one in the Stellantis Group, ranking 7th in the LCV market overall in Europe.

In Italy, FIAT is the market leader in passenger cars with 175,000 units sold, amounting to 11.1% of market share in the full year. The Fiat Panda Hybrid, made in Pomigliano, was the Italian best seller, for the 12th year in a row. Together with the Fiat 500 Hybrid, the Brand reached 66.5% of share.

FIAT Professional was the market leader in commercial vehicles, with 51,000 registrations amounting to a market share of 26.1% in 2023. Specifically, the Fiat Ducato, Doblò, and Fiorino ranked first in their respective segments, while the Scudo was second with a growth of 2.9% compared to the previous year.

In South America, FIAT grew in the region with a market share of 14.5% and more than 542,000 registered units, some 94,600 cars more than in 2022. In Brazil, FIAT secured its leadership in the Hatch category, pickups, and vans, with a 20% growth in the latter compared to the previous year.

In the Middle East and Africa Region, FIAT has set the path for further enlargement, first re-entering the Algerian market in March 2023 and introducing six models to meet the diverse mobility needs of retail and business customers.
