2024 Ford Puma Debuts With more Technology on Board

Ford has unveiled the new Puma, a stylish and high-tech evolution of the UK's bestselling car. The compact crossover offers city driving convenience and space for five people and their gear. The interior features a sports car-style cockpit with high-angle screens, 5G connectivity, and advanced driving technologies. Cruise control is more natural, with cruise control slowing down for junctions and bends, and a bird's-eye view on the centre screen for easy parking. The Puma ST Powershift model offers up to 155 PS peak power. Ford also announced the release of the fully electric Puma Gen-E later this year, the first Puma to deliver zero-tailpipe emission driving. The facelift for the Puma is limited, but it gains an overhauled digital cockpit, improved equipment, and a revised lineup. The ICE-only 1.5-liter engine with manual gearbox is no longer available, and the mild-hybrid 1.0-liter automatic is the only remaining option until the fully electric version arrives in 2024.

The new Puma is a significant upgrade in the automotive industry, featuring a larger 12-inch touchscreen in the center console and Ford's latest SYNC4 system. This system allows drivers to access maps, infotainment, and functions like climate and seat heating. The SYNC 4 connectivity and infotainment system has twice the computing power of the previous version and adapts to make it easier for drivers to access the features they need. Voice recognition and smartphone integration are also available, with Alexa built-in for tasks such as "What's on my calendar today?", "How's my commute home?", or "Play my driving playlist."

The new Puma also offers Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go and Lane Centring, which accelerates and brakes smoothly, and can use Predictive Speed Assist to adjust cruising speed for curves in the road, roundabouts, and when entering or leaving highways. A 360-degree surround-view camera system can display a bird's eye view to help avoid scrapes when parking.

The new headlamps have a fresh design and distinctive light signature, with optional Dynamic Matrix LED technology using Predictive Dynamic Bending Light to monitor the road ahead and shine light into corners for better visibility. The new Puma also has practicality, with an 80-litre MegaBox in the boot floor, two sets of golf clubs, and over 450 liters of space for luggage, shopping, or a dog cage. Customers can choose from Titanium, ST-Line, and ST-Line X models, each with Puma's iconic coupe-inspired exterior style and unique front bumper, grille, and alloy wheel designs.

The new Puma models are powered by Ford's 1.0-litre EcoBoost Hybrid engine, which uses 48-volt mild hybrid electric power to save fuel or boost performance to up to 155 PS. For a sportier drive, Ford Performance has developed the Puma ST Powershift with a special sports chassis, styling, and specification.
