The final Ford Edge is slated to be constructed in Canada on April 26.

Ford's Edge, a crossover model introduced in 2006, is set to end its life on April 26. The model sold 130,125 units in the US during its first year of production, but sales dropped due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ford is working on transforming Oakville, a plant that produced the Blue Oval, into an electric vehicle hub. In 2020, Ford and Unifor reached an agreement to save the plant, with Ford investing $1.95 billion CAD ($1.45 billion USD) to build five new electric vehicles. The facility will be retooled and modernized in 2024 to prepare for production of next-generation electric vehicles. The project includes a 407,000 square foot battery plant, sourced from the BlueOval SK Battery Park in Kentucky, and body, paint, and assembly buildings.
