Ford Revs Up Future of Auto Repair with $2 Million Scholarship Program

The automotive industry is facing a technician drought, with demand projected to outpace supply by over 400,000 by 2027. To bridge this gap, Ford Motor Company and its philanthropic arm, Ford Fund, are teaming up with dealerships in 10 regions across the US to invest $2 million in the Ford Auto Tech Scholarship.

This initiative aims to empower future generations by offering 400 need-based scholarships to students enrolled in post-secondary automotive technology programs in 20 states and 292 eligible schools. Each scholarship will provide $5,000 to cover educational expenses, including tuition, tools, living costs, and transportation, alleviating some of the financial burdens associated with pursuing this essential career path.

Recognizing the importance of mentorship and community support, Ford dealerships in each participating region will act as a vital resource for scholarship recipients. They will offer guidance, potential internship opportunities, and career advice, fostering a smooth transition from education to the professional automotive world.

Administered by the TechForce Foundation, a non-profit championing technical education, the 2024 Ford Auto Tech Scholarship is open for applications from March 4th to August 31st, 2024. If you're passionate about cars and envision a future in automotive repair, this scholarship program could be your key to igniting a rewarding and fulfilling career.
