Video: Cybertruck’s Aero Covers eating tires explained

Tesla's Cybertruck has been having problems with its aero covers for the wheels, which contain rubber prongs that extend into the tire sidewall. These prongs can make touch with the tire sidewall while driving, causing it to wear down. After a few thousand kilometers, T Sportline discovered that the rubber prongs had begun to scrape against the sidewall, causing the sidewall to wear down by around 120 thousandths of an inch. According to members of the Cybertruck Owners Club site, Tesla has halted supplying the aero covers while it works to remedy them. The automaker has not issued a recall for the aero covers, instead referring to them as a "part containment pending revision." Covers have also been reported to fly off while driving, and Tesla may be looking into ways to prevent this.
