2024 MX-5 Miata Updates and Prices

Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) has announced the pricing for the updated 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata, a popular driver's car with a well-balanced, lightweight, and outstanding power-to-weight ratio. All models have a front engine, rear-wheel drive layout, with a Skyactiv-G 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine delivering 181 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 151 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 rpm. The MX-5 Miata Sport and Club models are exclusively paired with a six-speed manual transmission, while the MX-5 Miata Grand Touring is offered in either a manual transmission or a quick-shifting six-speed automatic transmission with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.

The 2024 MX-5 Miata will continue to feature Kinematic Posture Control (KPC), a software-based suspension performance technology developed by Mazda that manages different vehicle systems to provide improved precision and confidence in high-g cornering. KPC applies a slight brake to the inner rear wheel during high-g cornering, suppressing body roll and making steering response feel more linear through tight or rough corners. Slightly stronger braking is used when accelerating through a corner, enhancing the limited slip effect.

Masquerades to the electric power-assisted steering (EPAS) system for 2024 include a new steering rack, resulting in reduced friction and a smoother steering action with a more defined 'on-center' feeling for relaxed freeway cruising. The exterior features updated headlights, LED taillights, and wheel designs, with the addition of Zircon Sand Metallic in 2023 and Aero Gray in 2024.

Inside, drivers benefit from a revised interior with extra padding for improved comfort, simplified gauge cluster, and a larger 8.8-inch infotainment display with touch functionality when using Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Mazda's first-ever integration of Alexa adds further flexibility, with hands-free commands for HVAC, radio, and more, minimizing driver distraction and allowing them to remain focused on the winding roads ahead.

The MX-5 Miata Sport is a two-seat roadster with a black cloth soft top and numerous standard features. It prioritizes safety with dual front airbags, side-impact airbags, and side-impact door beams, along with i-Activsense safety features like Blind Spot Monitoring, Smart Brake Support, and Lane Departure Warning. The three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel has a tilt and telescoping function, and it also has mounted buttons for audio, Bluetooth, and cruise control. The interior features include a leather shift knob, parking brake, cloth bucket seats, six-speaker audio, dual USB inputs, Mazda Advanced keyless entry, climate control, removable cup holders, padded door armrest, power doors, and power windows with one-touch down feature. The exterior features metallic black 16-inch aluminum alloy wheels, dual-tip exhaust, LED headlights, taillights, gloss black door mirrors, daytime running lights, variable-intermittent windshield wipers, and a rear glass window with defogger.

The MX-5 Miata Club is a sport-tuned model that enhances driver expectations with improved dynamics. It features Bilstein dampers, a front shock tower brace, and a new Asymmetric LSD. The LSD has been redesigned with a cam mechanism for different ramp angles on acceleration and deceleration, providing ideal yaw damping control. The Club also offers a new DSC-Track feature for closed circuit driving, allowing drivers to work on their on-track skills while still offering brake intervention if needed.

The Club also features a gloss black front air dam and rear lip spoiler, revised seats with black suede accents, black metallic 17-inch wheels, LED daytime running lights, a trunk lid-mounted shark fin antenna, body color high-mount brake light cover, and vinyl-leather material throughout the interior. All Club models feature wireless Apple CarPlay connectivity, SiriusXM satellite radio with a three-month trial subscription, and Bose nine-speaker premium audio, including a subwoofer and headrest speakers for the driver and passenger seats. This premium audio experience is maintained even with the top down.

The MX-5 Miata Club with Brembo BBS Recaro package offers drivers a range of features, including Brembo front brakes with red-painted calipers, dark gunmetal 17-inch BBS forged wheels, and heated Recaro sport seats. The package also includes an aero kit with gloss black side sill extensions and rear bumper skirt. This package is available on soft top MX-5 Miata Club models and standard equipment on the MX-5 Miata RF Club model, which has a contrasting black roof and can open or close it in 13 seconds.

The MX-5 Miata Grand Touring is a lightweight, performance-focused model that offers more comfort than the MX-5 Miata Club. It comes in black soft top or body-color RF and features an adaptive front-lighting system, high beam control, and traffic sign recognition. The Grand Touring models replace the Club's gloss black air dam and spoiler with black and machine-finished aluminum alloy wheels, body-color heated door side mirrors, and rain-sensing windshield wipers. Tan Nappa leather seats are now available as an upgrade, and the dark interior accents are replaced with bright silver finishes. The Grand Touring also includes heated leather seats, Mazda Navigation, automatic climate control, and a frameless auto-dim rearview mirror with HomeLink.
