2025 Kia K4: A Stylish and Tech-Loaded Upgrade Over the Forte, Starting at $21,990

Kia has officially announced the pricing and key details for the all-new 2025 Kia K4, which is set to replace the popular Forte in the U.S. market. This compact sedan brings a blend of modern styling, advanced technology, and enhanced performance, positioning it as a more upscale alternative to its predecessor.

Pricing and Trims

The 2025 Kia K4 is available in five different trims, each offering a unique set of features and capabilities:

  • K4 LX: Starting at $21,990, this base model is $2,200 more than the outgoing Forte LX but justifies the increase with its improved design and tech.
  • K4 LXS: Priced at $22,990, this trim is $2,700 more than the Forte LXS and offers additional features for comfort and convenience.
  • K4 EX: Coming in at $23,990, this trim does not have a direct Forte predecessor, adding a new tier to the lineup with an emphasis on luxury.
  • K4 GT-Line: At $25,190, the GT-Line sees a $2,900 increase over the Forte GT-Line, bringing a sportier appearance and upgraded interior features.
  • K4 GT-Line Turbo: The top-of-the-line model starts at $28,090, representing a $3,600 jump from the Forte GT. It’s powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 190 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque.

All models come with an additional $1,155 destination fee, bringing the total starting price to $23,145 for the base LX model.

Enhanced Performance and Features

The new Kia K4 offers a significant upgrade in both performance and interior technology. The GT-Line Turbo, with its turbocharged engine, is the most powerful option, while the rest of the lineup is equipped with a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter engine delivering 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque. Unlike the standard models, the sportier GT-Line and GT-Line Turbo trims feature a multi-link rear suspension, enhancing driving dynamics and ride comfort.

Interior and Technology

Inside, the K4 offers a host of standard and available features that elevate the driving experience. A 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen is standard across the range, supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The K4 also offers generous rear legroom—38 inches, which Kia claims to be class-leading—and cargo space comparable to midsize sedans, making it a practical choice for families.

Optional features include a more advanced digital cockpit, a premium Harman Kardon audio system, heated and ventilated front seats, a Digital Key, and a sunroof. Safety has also been a priority, with the K4 equipped with eight airbags and 11 standard Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), out of a total of 29 available.

Availability

Deliveries of the 2025 Kia K4 are set to begin in September 2024. The GT-Line variant will follow in November, while the flagship GT-Line Turbo is expected to arrive early next year. Although Kia has yet to confirm details on a hatchback version of the K4, it is anticipated to join the lineup in the near future.
