Audi has unveiled the 2025 RS e-tron GT Performance, marking a significant leap in the brand's electric vehicle lineup. This latest model combines cutting-edge technology with stunning performance, setting new standards in the electric sports car segment.
Electrifying Performance
The 2025 Audi RS e-tron GT Performance is equipped with a staggering 912 horsepower, enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 2.5 seconds.This incredible performance is attributed to its advanced electric powertrain, featuring permanent-magnet synchronous motors (PSM) on both axles. These motors deliver an output of 176 kW (239 PS) each on the front axle. The RS e-tron GT Performance also features modified power electronics on the front axle with a revised pulse inverter for even higher discharge currents.
The newly developed electric motor on the rear axle is also a PSM. It shares the same size specifications as the motors in the RS e-tron GT and the RS e-tron GT Performance, with an axial length of 192 millimeters and a diameter of 230 millimeters. This motor delivers an output of 415 kW (564 PS), with power reserves designed for extreme driving situations. The RS e-tron GT Performance, with a maximum electric output of 680 kW (925 PS), stands as the most powerful production car Audi has ever built.
Advanced Design and Aerodynamics
Audi has meticulously crafted the RS e-tron GT Performance with both aesthetics and aerodynamics in mind. The vehicle features a distinctive front end with an RS-specific 3D honeycomb structure on the Singleframe grille, enhancing its aggressive stance. The rear design incorporates elements inspired by motorsports, such as a streamlined diffuser and vertical fins, which not only improve aerodynamics but also add to its sporty appeal.
The RS e-tron GT Performance also introduces unique design elements exclusive to this model, including an optional matte, darkened carbon roof and carbon camouflage accents on the bumper, door trim, diffuser, and side mirrors. These features are a first for Audi, underscoring the car’s performance-oriented design.
Luxurious and Sustainable Interior
Inside, the RS e-tron GT Performance blends luxury with sustainability. The interior features redesigned seats, a new steering wheel, and digital enhancements that align with Audi's latest corporate identity. Sustainable materials such as Dinamica microfiber and Cascade fabric, made from recycled polyester, are extensively used throughout the cabin. Cutting-Edge Battery and Charging Technology
The RS e-tron GT Performance features a high-voltage battery with a gross capacity of 105 kWh, offering a significant increase in energy density while reducing overall weight. This advanced battery enables a range of up to 609 kilometers under ideal conditions.
Charging efficiency has also been greatly improved. The vehicle supports up to 320 kW of charging power, allowing it to charge from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes at high-power charging stations. Additionally, a new Plug&Charge feature simplifies the charging process by automatically authorizing and starting the charging session when the cable is connected.
Enhanced Braking and Weight Reduction
Audi has equipped the RS e-tron GT Performance with a newly developed and enlarged brake system. The standard model features steel discs with black calipers, available in red as an option. The RS models include tungsten carbide-coated brake discs, with optional carbon-fiber ceramic discs across the e-tron GT family. These high-performance brakes ensure optimal stopping power, critical for a car with such impressive acceleration capabilities .
Despite the significant increase in power, Audi managed to reduce the weight of the rear axle motor by around ten kilograms. This was achieved by redesigning components such as the lighter rotor and stator and optimizing the cooling system. The driveshaft has been strengthened to ensure smooth power distribution, with reworked electronics optimizing the all-wheel-drive system for all Audi drive select modes .
