Audi RS Q8 Performance: Setting New Standards

Audi Sport GmbH has unveiled its latest marvels, the RS Q8 performance and the updated RS Q8, marking a significant milestone in the realm of high-performance SUVs. With an impressive blend of power, design, and technology, these models are set to redefine the driving experience and assert Audi's dominance in the SUV segment.

Power and Performance

The RS Q8 performance is powered by a robust 4.0-liter V8 engine, delivering an astounding 471 kW (640 PS) and 850 Nm of torque. This makes it the most powerful series-produced combustion model in Audi Sport GmbH's history. The RS Q8 performance accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds, showcasing its remarkable agility and speed. Additionally, the vehicle has set a new lap record for production SUVs on the Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit with a time of 7:36.698 minutes, underscoring its exceptional performance capabilities.

The standard RS Q8 is not far behind, boasting 441 kW (600 PS) and 800 Nm of torque, enabling it to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds. Both models feature an optimized, self-locking center differential that enhances driving dynamics while maintaining everyday usability.

Design and Exterior

Audi has given the RS Q8 performance a distinct exterior that emphasizes its sporty character. It features a new front apron with striking air intakes, a unique honeycomb structure, and a blade in high-gloss black for the RS Q8 and matte gray for the performance version. The rear of the vehicle is equally impressive, with two oval tailpipes and a diffuser divided by a reflector, highlighting its RS lineage.

To complement the enhanced performance, the RS Q8 performance comes with newly developed, weight-reduced 23-inch alloy wheels, which not only improve the car's aesthetics but also its driving dynamics by reducing unsprung mass by approximately 20 kilograms.

Advanced Suspension and Handling

Both the RS Q8 and RS Q8 performance are equipped with adaptive air suspension sport, ensuring a perfect balance between sportiness and comfort. The suspension system allows for a variable ride height of up to 90 millimeters, enhancing the vehicle's versatility across different terrains. Additionally, the optional electromechanical active roll stabilization (eAWS) minimizes body roll during cornering, further improving handling and stability.

The RS Q8 performance also features all-wheel steering, which enhances agility and maneuverability, particularly at lower speeds by reducing the turning radius and improving lane-change stability at higher speeds.

Interior and Customization

Audi offers a range of new paint finishes for the exterior, including Sakhir Gold, Ascari Blue, and Chili Red. Inside, the RS Q8 and RS Q8 performance provide luxurious and sporty design packages in red, gray, and blue. The blue RS design package is exclusive to the RS Q8 performance, featuring blue seat belts and contrasting stitching throughout the interior.

The vehicles are equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including Matrix LED headlights with optional HD Matrix LED and Audi laser light for enhanced visibility. The Audi virtual cockpit plus, with a 12.3-inch display, features a shift light indicator in manual mode, mimicking motorsport technology to signal the optimal time to change gears.

Pricing and Availability

The new RS Q8 and RS Q8 performance will be available for order starting June 27, 2024. The RS Q8 starts at 141,900 euros, while the RS Q8 performance, the pinnacle of Audi's SUV lineup, begins at 155,700 euros.

With these models, Audi Sport GmbH continues to push the boundaries of performance and luxury, offering an unparalleled driving experience that combines power, precision, and sophistication.
