Kia has unveiled the refreshed 2025 Carnival MPV, featuring a significant facelift, a new hybrid powertrain, and advanced technology enhancements. The model year also introduces a price increase of nearly $3,000, with the base model now starting at $36,500.

Design and Technology Upgrades

The 2025 Carnival sports a redesigned front end with a grand sculptural grille, cube-like headlights, and geometric wheel designs. Inside, the MPV boasts a sophisticated cabin with standard 4.2-inch TFT and 12.3-inch displays, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and numerous USB-C ports. Higher trims feature a fully digital instrumentation upgrade, additional power outlets, and family-friendly amenities such as an in-cabin camera, intercom, and Quiet Mode.

The interior also offers “Slide-Flex” seating for 8-passenger versions, with a sliding second row and removable second-row seats, maintaining the Carnival’s versatility. Standard dual power sliding doors with hands-free open functionality enhance convenience, and the EX trims and above include additional family-friendly features​.

Hybrid Powertrain

The new Carnival Hybrid is a notable addition, powered by a 1.6-liter turbo-hybrid engine paired with a 54kW motor. This combination delivers a total output of 242 horsepower and 271 lb-ft of torque. The hybrid variant features 17-inch aerodynamic wheels, Active Air Flaps integrated into the front fascia, and paddle regenerative braking, making it a compelling choice for eco-conscious buyers​.

Advanced Driver Assistance

The Carnival’s advanced driver assistance systems have been updated with Kia’s latest technology. Standard Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) now includes Junction Crossing, Lane-change Oncoming, Lane-change Side, and Evasive Steering Assist on SX models and above. Additionally, SX trims and above are equipped with Highway Driving Assist 2, which helps maintain a predetermined distance from the vehicle ahead, keeps the vehicle within lane markers, and assists in lane changes under certain conditions​.

Connected Car Features

Kia’s next-generation Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) system is new to the Carnival, enabling over-the-air updates. The optional Connected Car Rear Cockpit (ccRC) Rear Entertainment System includes dual 14.6-inch monitors with full HD resolution, capable of streaming from popular platforms and receiving future content updates over-the-air. The Carnival continues to offer an available 3.5-liter V6 GDI engine, producing 287 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
