Tesla Unveils All-New Model 3 Performance: Faster, Sharper, More Efficient

Introducing the New Model 3 Performance

Tesla has announced the launch of the new Model 3 Performance, marking six years since the first Model 3 Performance deliveries. This latest iteration represents a significant advancement, leveraging Tesla's cutting-edge manufacturing and engineering capabilities to create what the company describes as the perfect high-performance daily driver.

Enhanced Performance and Chassis

The new Model 3 Performance builds upon the quality and platform improvements of the latest Model 3, delivering a more driver-focused experience. It features a performance-tuned chassis with bespoke components designed to improve performance and stiffness while reducing mass. These include adaptive dampers with hollow damper piston rods, a multi-sectioned stabilizer bar, ultra-high strength steel springs, and stiffer suspension top mounts. These updates result in a more capable and performance-oriented chassis that maximizes the effectiveness of the vehicle's technologies.

Powerful Performance 4DU Drive Unit

The Model 3 Performance is powered by Tesla's latest generation Performance 4DU drive unit, offering a remarkable 22% increase in continuous power, 32% boost in peak power, and a 16% rise in peak torque compared to its predecessor. This translates to exhilarating acceleration, with the Model 3 Performance capable of sprinting from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds. Despite this impressive performance, Tesla has managed to improve energy efficiency, with a 2% reduction in energy consumption compared to the previous generation Model 3 Performance.

Improved Handling and Control

The new Model 3 Performance features forged and staggered 20-inch wheels with Tesla-specific Pirelli P ZERO 4 performance tires, providing better traction and comfort. The powertrain torque split is more rear-biased, maximizing traction from the larger rear tire in corner exits. The car also comes standard with track-ready brake pads for improved braking performance.

All-New Adaptive Damping System

A first for the Model 3, the new Adaptive Damping system adjusts to driver and road inputs in real time, optimizing ride and handling while improving comfort. The system offers three preset modes: Standard, Sport, and Track, each offering a different balance of comfort and performance.

Functional and Performance-Focused Design

The new Model 3 Performance features significant design differentiation, including front and rear fascias, a spoiler, front splitter, and rear diffuser. These design elements not only enhance the vehicle's appearance but also improve aerodynamic performance, reducing drag by up to 5% and lift by 36%.

Interior Upgrades

Inside, the Model 3 Performance is equipped with new Sport seats that offer enhanced bolstering and a deeper, more engaging seating position. The seats feature 12-way power adjustment, heating, and ventilation, providing improved comfort and support during dynamic driving.

Availability and Pricing

The Tesla Model 3 Performance is currently available to order, with deliveries expected to begin in May or June. Pricing starts at $52,990 before a $1,390 destination fee. Additionally, the model is eligible for a $7,500 federal tax credit.

In conclusion, the new Model 3 Performance represents a significant leap forward in performance, technology, and design, further solidifying Tesla's position as a leader in the electric vehicle market.
