Opel Unveils All-New Frontera SUV with Electric and Hybrid Options

Opel has revealed the all-new Frontera, a spacious and fun SUV available in both electric and hybrid variants. The Frontera takes the place of the aging Crossland and offers a modern take on the nameplate used for SUVs between 1991 and 2004.

Bold Design with a Functional Interior

The new Frontera features a rugged design with an upright front silhouette and bold proportions. This design combines a spacious cabin with a tough and modern look. The interior boasts a clean, modern aesthetic with wide horizontal decors and a fully digital Pure Panel cockpit with two 10-inch displays. Passengers can also connect their smartphones via a dedicated app to use as the vehicle's infotainment control panel.

Comfort and Practicality

The Frontera prioritizes both comfort and practicality. The front seats feature Opel's patented Intelli-Seat technology for long-distance comfort, and the cabin offers ample storage space with a cooled wireless charger, multiple USB ports, and a flexible strap to secure tablets in the center console. With the rear seats folded, the Frontera offers up to 1,600 liters of cargo space. (460 litres of luggage space in the boot)

Electric and Hybrid Powertrains

The new Frontera caters to a wide range of customers by offering both electric and hybrid powertrains. The electric variant promises a fun and emissions-free driving experience, while the hybrid option provides efficiency with 48-volt mild-hybrid technology. Specific details about the powertrains have not yet been revealed.

Market Launch and Positioning

The Opel Frontera is expected to launch in summer 2024 and will slot between the smaller Mokka and the larger Grandland in Opel's SUV lineup. The Grandland will also be receiving a refresh this year.

Combining Tradition with Innovation

The all-new Opel Frontera marks a new chapter for the brand. It combines the practicality and spaciousness that Opel is known for with a bold design and a commitment to electrification. With its diverse powertrain options and focus on comfort and technology, the Frontera is poised to appeal to a wide range of SUV buyers.
