Alfa Romeo Unveils the Milano: A Sporty Subcompact Crossover with Electric and Hybrid Options



Alfa Romeo has unveiled the Milano, its highly anticipated subcompact SUV. Marking the brand's first foray into the electric vehicle segment, the Milano becomes its smallest offering, joining the Giulia sedan and the larger Stelvio and Tonale crossovers in the Alfa Romeo lineup.

Design:

The Milano features a sleek and modern design with Alfa Romeo's signature styling cues. The front end is characterized by elongated matrix LED headlights and a new scudetto grille that is partly covered in the electric version. The profile is distinguished by toned-up rear shoulders, large wheels, and a greenhouse that seamlessly connects with the rear glass. The Milano measures 4,170 mm (164.2 inches) long, 1,780 mm (70.1 inches) wide, and 1,500 mm (59.1 inches) tall.

Interior:

The interior features a digital cockpit with dual 10.25-inch displays. The Milano offers Alfa Romeo-specific touches like the infotainment system graphics and the Cannocchiale digital instrument cluster. Optional features include Sabelt seats upholstered in Alcantara and a leather steering wheel.

Powertrains:

  • The Milano Ellettrica comes with a 154 hp electric motor and a 54 kWh battery offering a 255-mile (410 km) WLTP range.
  • The Milano Ellettrica Veloce is the flagship model, equipped with a single electric motor with 237 hp and a Torsen mechanical self-locking differential.
  • The Milano Ibrida (arriving in 2025) will feature a turbocharged 1.2-liter gasoline engine with a 48-volt battery and a 28 hp electric motor. Power will be transmitted to the front or all four wheels.

Availability:

The Alfa Romeo Milano will be priced starting from under €30,000 ($32,200) and is expected to go on sale in Europe later this year. Leasing deals will begin at under €200 ($215) per month. The Milano Speciale trim will be available at launch. Orders for the electric and hybrid Speciale versions will commence on April 11 in Italy, with other European markets to follow.
