2024 Citroen C3: Choose Gas, Hybrid, or Electric with Bold New Design

Citroën introduces the latest iteration of its best-selling C3 model in the European market, boasting over 1.5 million units sold since its debut in 2016. The All-New C3 continues the legacy of its predecessors, offering a unique blend of design, comfort, and innovation at an attractive price point.

Alongside the 1,2 l Turbo engine, the All-New C3 offers for the first time a hybrid powertrain thanks to the modularity of the SmartCar platform, designed to be versatile and multi-energy.

The Hybrid 100: The new C3 makes electrification more accessible by offering the Hybrid 48V technology. Compact, lightweight, and affordable, this solution is particularly appropriate for this versatile urban car, enabling up to 50% of city journeys to be made in electric mode. With no recharging constraints, it lets you enjoy all the benefits of electric driving, from the ease of driving without noise or vibration to the possibility of driving in low-emission zones, while reducing your budget and your environmental footprint.

This hybridization combines the benefits of petrol and electric with two motors that work together or separately, automatically and without driver intervention. Based on the Hybrid 48V technology, it consists of a 48V Lithium-Ion battery that recharges during certain driving phases, a 3-cylinder petrol engine of 100 hp (75 kW) from the new generation designed to specifically adapt to this new hybrid system and coupled with the new electrified ë-DCS6 dual-clutch gearbox integrating a ë-Motor electric motor of 21 kW produced in France.

More driving pleasure while reducing consumption and emissions. Simple and smooth in its use, the Hybrid 100 offers pleasure and versatility with a torque of 205 Nm (55 Nm for the electric motor) while reducing its emissions and consumption by nearly 10% compared to an equivalent petrol version. In WLTP mixed cycle, this version is homologated at 117g CO2 / km. In case of strong accelerations, the electric motor delivers additional power of 9 kW (about 12 hp), always ensures a high level of comfort while guaranteeing dynamic pick-up.

The 1.2 l turbo engine: As an entry-level option, Citroën C3 offers a 1.2-liter Turbo petrol engine with a power of 100 hp, paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Completely redesigned for performance and reliability, this engine is now equipped with a timing chain. It ensures great accessibility and versatility of use for the C3. In WLTP mixed cycle, this version will target 126g CO2 / km (homologation under validation).

One of the standout features of the All-New C3 is its focus on comfort. Equipped with Citroën's Advanced Comfort Suspension and redesigned seats, the C3 provides a smooth and relaxing driving experience. The interior has been optimized for space and practicality, with ample storage compartments and a generous boot capacity of 310 liters.

In terms of technology, the All-New C3 offers a range of connectivity options, including a Smartphone Station for basic infotainment and a 10.25-inch touchscreen display with 3D navigation on higher trim levels. Safety features include Active Safety Brake, Lane Departure Warning, and Speed Sign Recognition, ensuring peace of mind for all occupants.

The All-New C3 is available in two trim levels, with the entry-level "You" model offering a high level of standard equipment, while the "Max" version adds premium features such as two-tone paint, 17-inch alloy wheels, and automatic air conditioning.

With a starting price of €14,990, the All-New C3 is positioned competitively in the market, undercutting its predecessor and offering excellent value for money. Deliveries are set to begin over the summer of 2024, with the Hybrid 100 version expected to follow later in the year.
