Viritech Unveils Ready-to-Run Hydrogen Powertrain: A Game Changer for FCEVs

Viritech, a frontrunner in hydrogen powertrain solutions, has unveiled the 60kW VPT60N, a complete powertrain system designed to accelerate the adoption of hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs).

This innovative package integrates Viritech's expertise, combining a 60kW fuel cell, a 16kWh battery, an electric motor, inverter, and final drive unit, a hydrogen storage system, and a comprehensive vehicle control unit. The system is pre-configured and ready for seamless integration into prototype and development vehicles, saving manufacturers valuable time and resources.

"The launch of the first powertrain in our vehicle powertrain family realizes years of hard work at Viritech," said Timothy Lyons, CEO of Viritech. "The VPT60N offers a complete, efficient, and scalable solution for OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers looking to develop next-generation FCEVs."

Here's a glimpse into what the VPT60N offers:

  • 60kW fuel cell: Provides clean and efficient power generation.
  • 16kWh battery: Supports the fuel cell and enables regenerative braking.
  • Combined e-machine, inverter, and final drive unit: Delivers smooth power delivery and impressive torque.
  • 6Kg 350bar hydrogen storage system: Offers ample driving range.
  • Full function vehicle control unit: Ensures optimal system performance and control.

Both the battery and hydrogen storage systems are customizable to fit various vehicle designs, ensuring maximum packaging flexibility. Additionally, the non-homologated version allows manufacturers to test and integrate the system before finalizing the vehicle design for regulatory approval.

The VPT60N represents a significant step forward in FCEV technology, offering a comprehensive and user-friendly solution for manufacturers looking to bring zero-emission vehicles to market faster. With its efficient design and customizable options, the VPT60N has the potential to be a game changer in the race towards a sustainable transportation future.
