The All-New Audi A3: A Comprehensive Upgrade for the Digital Age [W/Gallery+Video]

The Audi A3 gets a comprehensive upgrade, boasting a sportier design, enhanced comfort, and a focus on digital features. The standard equipment receives a significant boost, and new materials elevate the interior. Highlighting the focus on personalization, the A3 allows for running apps directly on the display, choosing from various daytime running light signatures, and even adding desired functionalities on demand. This update also introduces the A3 allstreet, a unique crossover variant that stands out with its off-road aesthetics, increased ground clearance, and a commanding seating position.

Audi elevates the visual appeal of the A3 Sportback and Sedan with a decidedly dynamic and emotional redesign. The new look is defined by a wider, flatter hexagonal Singleframe grille that dominates the front fascia, instantly conveying the car's sporty character. A striking front spoiler connects the air intakes and visually lowers the A3, while the rear gets a sporty refresh with a new bumper and diffuser. This progressive design language is particularly impactful with the optional S line exterior package. The available metallic finishes in District Green, Ascari Blue, and Progressive Red further emphasize the A3's newfound dynamism.

Audi introduces a rugged new member to the A3 family - the A3 allstreet. This premium compact crossover boasts a unique off-road look with design elements that proudly showcase its increased ground clearance. The matte black Singleframe grille is emphasized vertically, while the large octagonal radiator grille aligns it with Audi's tougher Q models. Three grooves on both the front and rear add to the off-road character, while dark rocker panels and lower door trim amplify its powerful stance. The A3 allstreet sits 15mm taller than the A3 Sportback thanks to its lifted suspension, resulting in a total of 30mm more ground clearance. Standard 17-inch wheels, one inch larger than the A3 Sportback's, further contribute to its capable appearance. The interior benefits from a slightly raised seat position, offering increased comfort and a better view of the road. Despite its adventurous spirit, the A3 allstreet retains functionality with a spacious 380-liter luggage compartment, expandable to 1,200 liters with the rear seats folded. Optional features like an electric tailgate, tow hitch, and storage package enhance its practicality for all your gear- hauling adventures.

Audi adds a new layer of personalization to the A3 series with selectable daytime running light signatures. Drivers can now choose from up to four unique digital designs accessible directly through the MMI system. This innovative feature allows for on-the-fly customization, letting you tailor the car's appearance to your mood or preference. Each signature interprets confidence and agility in a distinct way, offering a range of visual personalities to match your driving style. The advanced LED and Matrix LED headlights, featuring 24 dynamic pixel elements, generate these captivating displays, further emphasizing the sporty character of the Audi A3.

Audi elevates the A3's interior to match its bold exterior with a range of striking innovations. The cabin benefits from a complete refresh, incorporating a new shifter design, stylish air vents, and beautiful decorative fabric inlays. Standard equipment now includes a leather steering wheel, climate control, ambient lighting, and a center armrest for enhanced comfort. Stepping it up a notch, the optional climate control package boasts a sleek blade design that emphasizes the width of the cockpit. The center console and door handles have also been redesigned with premium finishes. A new, compact shifter offers intuitive control over the S tronic functions, seamlessly integrating into the center console. For an extra touch of sophistication, the standard interior lighting bathes the doors and footwell in a warm glow. You can further personalize the ambience with optional contour lighting on the switch panel and door sills. A particularly unique feature is the backlit fabric panel in the front doors, meticulously laser-cut 300 times to create a captivating play of light. Finally, the A3 offers two distinctive fabric inlay options: a technical textured weave made entirely from recycled polyester and a luxurious Dinamica microfiber.

The Audi A3 and A3 allstreet embrace the digital age, offering a seamlessly connected driving experience. Standard equipment boasts a DAB+ digital radio, a large 10.1-inch touchscreen display, Audi's virtual cockpit for clear instrumentation, and a convenient inductive smartphone charger. Multiple USB ports in both the front and rear ensure all your devices stay powered. Stepping up connectivity, optional features include MMI navigation plus, a comprehensive connect portfolio, and access to an in-vehicle app store. Downloaded apps integrate directly with the car's infotainment system and can even be controlled by voice command. Further enhancing personalization, "functions on demand" allow you to add up to five desired infotainment and comfort features, like adaptive cruise control or an upgraded sound system, directly through the myAudi app. These features can be booked for flexible durations, ranging from one month to permanent activation, ensuring you get exactly the technology you need for your driving adventures.

Audi prioritizes safety in the A3 and A3 allstreet with a comprehensive suite of driver assistance systems. Standard features include Audi pre sense front, which automatically brakes to avoid collisions, as well as turn assist and lane departure warning to keep you on track. Upping the comfort factor is the available adaptive cruise assist, which manages acceleration, braking, and steering on highways, allowing for a more relaxed driving experience. This system even assists with lane changes at higher speeds, using the MMI, instrument panel, and head-up display to indicate safe opportunities. Maneuvering in tight spaces is a breeze with park assist and park assist plus, while additional systems like lane change warning, exit warning, and rear cross-traffic assist provide a watchful eye on surrounding traffic for enhanced safety and peace of mind.

European customers won't have to wait long to get their hands on the new A3. Orders open in March, with two engine choices available initially.
