The Renault Scenic E-Tech has emerged victorious, claiming the prestigious title of Car of the Year 2024. The electric SUV secured the win with a total of 329 votes from a panel of 22 jurors, marking a significant moment for both Renault and the electric vehicle market.
This victory marks the seventh time Renault has claimed the coveted award, solidifying its position as a leader in automotive innovation throughout the competition's 61-year history. Following closely behind the Scenic E-Tech were the BMW 5-Series with 308 votes and the Peugeot 3008 with 197 votes.
Interestingly, four out of the seven finalist models were entirely electric, including the winner, reflecting the growing prominence of electric vehicles in the automotive landscape. Other contenders in the running included the Kia EV9, Volvo EX30, BYD Seal, and Toyota C-HR.
The announcement of the Car of the Year traditionally takes place at the Geneva International Motor Show. This year, the ceremony returned to its familiar setting after being held in Brussels in 2023. This year's win by the Renault Scenic E-Tech serves as a testament to the car's impressive features, design, and commitment to sustainable transportation.
