1980 Restomod Jeep Cherokee SJ Costs $195,000

The 1980 Jeep Cherokee, also known as the SJ, is a restomod SUV that exudes the style of the era with the vibrant stripes of the Golden Hawk package, thanks to JeepHeritage. The first-gen Cherokee, also known as the SJ, is less boxy and more visually complex than the XJ that followed in its footsteps. The Golden Hawk package accentuates striking lines with Bordeaux Metallic base color, dark gray, brown, and beige stripes on the hood, flanks, and tailgate. The wheels wear bronze color, matching the rest of the body's earth-tone palette.

The interior has a simple, classic appearance with lots of beige upholstery, with JeepHeritage sourcing the original Levi's fabric for the seats and replacing vinyl areas with leather. All wiring, glass, and seals are new, and the engine-turned metal gauge cluster trim is particularly eye-catching.

The original buyer decided to keep the AMC 360-cubic-inch (5.9-liter) V8 under the hood, with a multipoint fuel injection system and new stainless-steel exhaust and disc brakes at all four corners. The powerplant, axles, transfer case, and transmission have all been rebuilt, and a frame-off restoration allowed for new paint and rust protection. The SUV has covered about 2,000 miles since the restoration, and it's ready for a new owner.
